Currently at RISE Academy, our programs provide learning opportunities for children PreK through 6th grade. Our future desire is to add on through 8th grade. Our programs are designed to offer children opportunities to grow academically, socially, and cognitively while infusing the light and love of Jesus.
CORE Classes: Tuesday/Thursday
Pre-School Curriculum
Preschool Foundations is a hands-on, play-based class designed to introduce students to a classroom environment while developing early foundational skills.
Kindergarten Prep is designed for students who are ready to build on those foundations, with a focus on strengthening and mastering letter names and sounds in preparation for Kindergarten.
***Both preschool classes are in accordance with our K-6 hybrid model. Parents are expected to homeschool on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and your curriculum/materials will be provided for you!
Kindergarten-6th Grade Curriculum
Language Arts - The Good & The Beautiful
The Good & The Beautiful Language Arts curriculum combines the following subjects into one easy-to-teach, no prep-time needed course: reading, phonics, writing, spelling, literature, grammar & punctuation, geography, and art. Lessons inspire a love of good literature, God, family, nature, beautiful art, and strong moral values.
Handwriting: The Good & The Beautiful
Kindergarten & 1st Grade focus on the correct print formation of letters and numbers. Short words and sentences are introduced near the end. 2nd grade introduces words, sentences, Bible verses, and poems, and students will review the spelling of numbers and learn to spell the names of colors. 3rd grade will complete Level 3: Introduction to Cursive. This course teaches cursive with a unique colored dot system, where the child follows the colored dots in the order of the rainbow. About 85% of the course focuses on teaching cursive and 15% of the course on cementing correct print formation.
Creative Writing: The Good & The Beautiful
Students in grades 4-6 will complete Creative Writing Notebook 1, which will help children dive into the joy of creative writing! It will teach skills such as adding sensory descriptions, generating ideas, using gestures to show emotion, creating engaging characters and plots, writing dialogue, overcoming writer’s block, and much more!
Math - BJU Press
BJU Press equips students to master foundational math skills through hands-on manipulatives and sequential teaching that lead students from a concrete to an abstract understanding of mathematics. Strategic practice and review build computational fluency and prepare students for authentic learning as they connect math concepts to everyday life and Godly truths & principles.
Science/- MasterBooks
MasterBooks "Let's Talk Science" series is designed to be a lot of fun, interactive, hands-on, and easy to prepare for. Through interactive lessons, hands-on activities, engaging worksheets, and Biblically-inspired stories, students will discover God as the Creator of the world around them. Through each adventure, they’ll discover that science is a wonderful tool God has given us to study His creation — and learn more about our relationship with Him!
K-4th Grade: MasterBooks "Let's Talk Science" series is designed to be a lot of fun, interactive, hands-on, and easy to prepare for. Through interactive lessons, hands-on activities, engaging worksheets, and Biblically-inspired stories, students will discover God as the Creator of the world around them.
5th & 6th Grade: Heaven & Earth from the “God’s Design” series covers geology, astronomy, and meteorology, highlighting the divine craftsmanship of our world with fun experiments.
Kindergarten-2nd Grade History: Driven by Grace Foundations of the Bible
This Bible study will help you confidently and thoroughly teach your children the truths of God's Word, whether you grew up studying the Bible or are a new believer. As a family, you will learn about the historical, cultural, and biblical context of the scriptures together. You will dive deeper into the Bible and explore topics further with video and book recommendations. There are 3 volumes in this series and each volume spans 1 school year. All students in K-2nd grade will study the same volume one year at a time. By the end of year 3, students will have covered the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation and families could then repeat the cycle again for deeper study if they so choose!
3rd-6th Grade History: MasterBooks "America's Story"
MasterBooks "America’s Story” teaches the amazing history of the United States of America. This full-color history curriculum features an engaging narrative, beautiful historic illustrations, photographs, maps, and more. Volume 1 explores the infancy of our country through the founding of our great nation. Volume 2 continues on as students experience the civil war through the Industrial Revolution. In Volume 3, which will be used for the 26-27 school year, students will travel from the early 1900s through Modern America as they learn about events such as the Titanic, space travel, world wars, the Great Depression, innovation, and more!
ELECTIVE Classes: Wednesdays
General Music
Our K-6 General Music class brings music to life through purposeful hands-on experiences that keep students actively involved. From singing and movement to instruments and creative exploration, every lesson is designed to build a strong musical foundation while keeping students engaged and curious. Each class blends energy with structure, giving students opportunities to collaborate and create, while building confidence, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of God’s gift of music to us. Whether your child already loves music or is just beginning their journey, this class nurtures curiosity and helps every student find their unique voice in a fun and supportive environment.
Spanish
As a first introduction to Spanish, this will be a very interactive class as students learn how to introduce themselves, build conversational skills to talk about everyday topics, and follow simple instructions. We will use games, songs, stories, and creative activities to help students learn. We will emphasize speaking and listening to help students build confidence as they begin using a new language!
Created to Create
Created to Create is a creative space where students explore art through the lens of faith, discovering how God's fingerprints are woven into every element of design. Across three 8-week sessions, students will begin by studying the seven elements of art: line, shape, color, value, texture, form, and space, alongside artists throughout history who mastered each one. Students practice every element hands-on before bringing their new skills to their final piece. Students will begin learning to thoughtfully observe and discuss works of art through mini art shows in class and critiquing the artwork we explore. Building on that foundation, subsequent sessions explore the principles of design: balance, contrast, emphasis, movement, proportion, rhythm, and unity and then move into a range of media including drawing, painting, mixed media, and sculpture. Portfolios are sent home at the end of each 8-week session. Art Studio is open to students at any point in the year there is no need to start at the beginning. Classes are tailored for three age groups: Kindergarten–1st, 2nd–3rd, and 4th–6th grade.
Baking/Decorating
In this fun and creative elective, students will learn the basics of cake and cookie decorating while exploring their God-given creativity. Through hands-on activities, students will practice piping techniques, design colorful treats, and build confidence in the kitchen.
Each class includes a short faith connection, helping students understand that God is the ultimate Creator and that their talents can be used to bring joy and serve others. Students will decorate cookies, cupcakes, and mini cakes while developing patience, creativity, and attention to detail.
Dissection
Dissection opens the door to an engaging new world of discovery, blending scientific study with hands-on technique. In this class, students will develop a foundational understanding of anatomy—exploring how different structures function, how they are designed, and where they are located across a variety of animals. Specimens will include the earthworm, frog, pig, shark, and more. Each student will be provided with an individual kit containing all the materials needed to fully participate. This interactive, hands-on approach not only deepens comprehension but also helps strengthen fine motor skills. With a small class size, students benefit from personalized guidance and meaningful learning opportunities.
Embroidery
In this colorful, hands-on adventure, young learners will discover the joy of stitching as they explore beginner techniques. We’ll start with the basics, like how to thread a needle, choosing thread, and set up an embroidery hoop. From there, students will practice simple stitches such as running stitch, chain stitch, backstitch, satin stitch, and more. By the end of the class, each child will feel proud, confident, and ready to show off their very own embroidery skills
Creative Writing
A fun and imaginative writing class where 2nd and 3rd grade students create stories, develop characters, and express their ideas. Students will build confidence in writing while growing creativity and storytelling skills. In this engaging creative writing elective, students will grow their confidence as writers while exploring their imagination and unique voice. Through fun prompts, storytelling activities, and guided practice, students will learn how to build characters, develop simple plots, and express their ideas clearly. This class encourages creativity, self-expression, and a love for writing as students discover the joy of bringing their thoughts and stories to life.
Survival Skills
Many essential survival skills have faded from modern culture, yet they remain critical in times of need. In this class, students will explore the practical skills required to navigate a wide range of real-world challenges. Instruction includes fire building and maintenance, outdoor cooking, knot tying and basic fishing techniques, map reading and compass use, foundational first aid and CPR, shelter construction, water collection and
filtration, and situational awareness with critical thinking. This is a hands-on, confidence- building experience designed to be both safe and engaging, equipping students with practical knowledge they can rely on when it matters most.
Magna Tile Building
A fun, hands-on building class where K–1 students create and explore using Magna-Tiles. Students will strengthen creativity and early engineering skills through guided challenges and imaginative play. In this creative, hands-on elective, students will explore building, design, and imagination using Magna-Tiles. Through guided challenges and open-ended play, children will create structures, patterns, and simple designs while developing spatial awareness and problem-solving skills. This class encourages creativity, teamwork, and confidence as students bring their ideas to life and discover the joy of building.
STEM
A fun, hands-on introduction to STEM where K–1 students explore, build, and discover through interactive activities. Students will develop early problem-solving skills while learning through play and creativity. In this hands-on STEM elective, our youngest learners will explore the exciting world of science, technology, engineering, and math through play, creativity, and discovery. Students will engage in age-appropriate experiments, building challenges, and problem-solving activities designed to spark curiosity and develop critical thinking skills. Through exploration and teamwork, children will begin to see how God’s creation is full of order, design, and wonder.
