Educational Philosophy

Our approach to education is to integrate the benefits of classroom learning while still allowing families and students the independence of homeschooling. We prioritize small class sizes, differentiated instruction, hands-on learning experiences, and the added bonus of time for students to socialize with others!

We aim to honor God in all that we do. Classes are taught by teachers who know, love, and follow Jesus and Biblical truths and principles are integrated freely throughout the school day, no matter the content area. Students are taught how much God loves them and we encourage them to get to know Him through prayer and reading the Bible.

We believe that children belong first to the Lord and He has given the responsibility of raising and teaching them to their parents. We support parents in this role of educating their children and partner with them to provide a more enriching educational experience.

Beliefs & Values

  • We believe God’s Word is our final authority for faith and practice. (2 Tim. 3:16-17)

  • We believe that there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe that people were created in the image of God, both male and female (Gen. 1:26-28) and that these two distinct and immutable genders were part of God’s good and perfect plan for creation. Furthermore, God designed marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman. (Gen. 2:24)

  • We believe all human life is sacred and precious and that murder is wrong (Genesis 9:6 - murder is wrong; Genesis 1:26- Man was made in the image of God; Jeremiah 1:5- God knowing an individual from conception, Psalm 139- the Psalmist praises God whom he says "created my inmost being...[and] knit me together in my mothers womb."

  • We believe that Jesus Christ is our Messiah, God incarnate, fully God and fully man, one Person in two natures. Jesus was conceived through the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, was crucified, arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father.

  • We believe that all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God. (Rom. 3:23) We believe Jesus Christ died in our place, shed His blood on the cross as the perfect, all-sufficient sacrifice for our sins. His atoning death and victorious resurrection constitute the only ground for salvation.

  • We believe in the personal, bodily and glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ. The coming of Christ will be at a time known only to God.

  • We value sharing the love and light of Jesus with others. We seek to be a community that offers grace, mercy, truth, and a Christ-centered approach to learning. We strive to provide a safe atmosphere and maintain healthy relationships with one another.

Parent-Teacher Team

We believe parents and teachers make the best partners when it comes to helping each grow in and outside of the classroom. We want parents to feel equipped and confident as their children’s first teacher! As a registered homeschool family, it is ultimately the duty and responsibility of the parent(s) to educate their child(ren). However, through our hybrid model we desire to come alongside families to help provide a rigorous and engaging curriculum and a compassionate and highly qualified teaching staff.

What is a Hybrid Model?

RISE Academy is a partnership between parents/guardians and certified/highly qualified teachers. Our teachers introduce the concepts in classroom, set the pace for the class and then students and their families are provided with weekly assignments to do at home on non classroom days.
